She’s gone!!! (She last post if you have no idea what I’m talking about.) I didn’t know how motivated my husband was to get rid of his mother until he said that he would tow her car out if he couldn’t get our long driveway cleared enough for her to drive her car out.

She called not long after she left and we both held our breath. She was calling because one of the interstates was not where she had left it last time she drove on it and wanted to know why and what we were going to do about it. The husband assured her that it hadn’t moved. She argued this point for a bit. He got off the phone and then turned off the phone. I laughed. He claims that his phone was out of power.

Then we fixed the furnace. Last night it was 10 degrees colder in here than the temperature the furnace was set for. I maintained that this was a problem. The husband tried to slowly explain to me that it was cold out and so it was hard for the furnace to keep the temperature up in the house. I explained even slower that it has been colder out this winter and we never had this problem before. I went down and checked the pilot light. That’s the extent of my furnace knowledge. Eventually this afternoon after 18 hours of coldness the husband wandered downstairs to check the furnace. He pulled out the filter. The furnace breathed a hearty sigh of relief and started acting normal. He changed the filter. The house heated up. I’ve managed not to say I told you so because I’m still rejoicing over the departure of the mother-in-law.

I just made some soup. I’ve going to eat it in the living room. For the past 2 years I haven’t been in the living room after dark because the evil mother-in-law has been perched there on the couch. I spent all my time in the bedroom to avoid her. I like my bedroom so it wasn’t a huge hardship. But, I don’t know what I’m going to do with all my freedom now.
