I had an appointment today for my new business. It was sort of a referral from the clinic I work at a lot. Actually they wanted the vet there to come to their house but the staff rerouted it to me. I (unfortunately?) have lots of ethics so I told them that I wasn’t going to steal clients and they had to offer it to the boss there first and if he didn’t want to do it, I would with his full knowledge and consent.

My stupid ethics stopped me from getting another job a few weeks ago. There were clients in who were talking about how their dogs got aggressive after car rides. Every brain cell was screaming at me, “Tell them you do housecalls!” But they were an established client at a clinic I was working at so it would be wrong to do.

Stupid ethics. I’m hoping I get some instant karma from them soon.
