I’ve been seriously slacking on quilting this summer. I’m finally in the mood to start a new quilt. It is inspired by a quilt I saw at a show. I simplified the block a lot but I am still just sort of making it up as I go along.
It is a cat if you can’t tell. I’m calling it a folk art cat because I’m making it up so any irregularities I’m going claim are intentional. I’m going to set hourglass blocks opposite the cats. It will look like the cats are in larger squares with colored corners. If you step way back it will look like the cats are floating inside 2 star blocks. This quilt will be a gift for someone I work with.
I can tell its a cat…and I think it is going to make an awesome quilt..
Too cool!!!! It does look rather folk-artish, but no mistaking that it’s a cat (at least I didn’t think so). Thanks for the comments on my blog!
