Thursday

The workout was 5 rounds of

  • Row 250m
  • 10 Squat Clean to Thrusters – pick up bar from floor to shoulders while squatting then stand up and push bar overhead
  • 30 sit ups
  • They put a 20 minute time cap on this. I got 4 rounds done. Only one person got it all done.

    Sunday

    We didn’t have a workout on Sunday. The gym moved over the weekend to a new space. It is 5 times as big as the previous space. It was cozy in the old gym. It only had about 800 square feet. With sometimes over 20 people in a class it was tight. So on Sunday we went to help set up the new space. I vacuumed the whole thing to get any construction debris off the mats. I am now possessive of it and am disturbed that people are messing up my floor with their sweat and dirt and chalk! LOL.
    If you are traveling from the old space to the new, you go from good neighborhood through a bad neighborhood and end up in a so-so neighborhood. We run outside. Some of the women were a bit wary of that.

    Tuesday

    We get there this morning and one of the women says, “In honor of our new neighborhood I brought my knife.” She whips out a knife from the sheath and proceeded to slice her finger. She had to go get stitches. Apparently we are more a danger to ourselves than any criminals would be. Thank god she didn’t bring a gun or we’d be dead.

    The workout was Fran. This is a core CrossFit workout. It sucks. I was totally uncoordinated today. At one point the trainer was staring at me and asking, “What are you doing?” I had no idea.

    21 reps then 15 reps then 9 reps of:

  • Thrusters – Bar on your shoulders. Squat, stand up and push it over head.
  • Pull ups
  • The Whole Life Challenge ends on Saturday. I’ve lost 14 lbs in 2 months. I wear yoga pants to work out in and they are falling down during pull ups since I jump. I need to get some new pants with drawstrings.
