I found this great list of reading bloggers who list what they read the past week every Monday. It is hosted here if you want to see the list of all the participating bloggers. I’ve been spending time reading through the blogs and found out about new books from authors I like and new books I’m interested in.

What I’ve Read This Week:

Mad Dash by Patricia Gaffney – It was ok. The heroine leaves her husband on the spur of the moment. The rest of the book is just them trying to decide if they should get back together or not. By the end, I didn’t care. I didn’t see the appeal of either one of them.

Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest by Steig Larsson – This is the third book in his trilogy about Lisbeth Salander. I loved, loved, loved Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The second book, Girl Who Played With Fire was ok. I think any follow up to the first book was bound to be a letdown in my mind. This book is closely related to the second book so review that one if you haven’t read it for a while.
It is hard to say what this book is about. The first book was a mystery with some side plots about the characters. The second was more about Lisbeth’s life story and the consequences of her actions. The third picks up immediately in the hospital where Lisbeth is being treated for injuries sustained in book 2. After that nothing happens. All kinds of people are trying to figure out what happened in book 2 in preparation for her trial. Eventually there is a trial in the last 10% of the book. Even though nothing happens it was still entertaining.
This was the first book I bought on my iPad. The only problem I had was getting used to the lack of page numbers. It shows you what percentage you’ve read instead.

First Impressions by Jude Deveraux – I’m new to Jude Deveraux even though she has written over 30 books. This is the second one of hers that I’ve read. I’ve liked her books because the main characters are complicated and multidimensional. In this book the protagonist is smarter than people give her credit for (good) but is overprotective and enabling to her adult daughter (drove me absolutely insane). The story was far fetched but entertaining.
