After I wrote the last post I was surfing Blog Explosion and came across Cranky Liberal’s site. There is a post there about the U.S. Senate Bill 20 that would require insurance companies to pay for birth control the same way they pay for viagra. It also provides for sex education in schools and other pregnancy prevention programs without being limited to abstinence only programs. It is called the Prevention First Bill. You can read the bill and contact your senators from the links above. Cranky Liberal seems to think that conservatives are more interested in fighting abortion than preventing it. I think that most anti-abortion people are much more interesting in preventing unwanted pregnancies. I wrote emails to both of my senators this morning expressing support for the bill.
Thank you for the support and the mention. More improtantly thanks for trying to do something to end the need to make such an awful choice.
Oh and my insurance comapny covered Viagra (not that I needed it š ) because it was health related. That irritated me to no end.
Who said that insurance companies pay for Viagra? That’s a new one.
