My cat Paul has really come a long way from the scared little kitty he was when he was adopted last fall. He’s learning to demand attention. One problem is that he is a little thief. He caused mayhem for me and vet visits for Freckles when he stole the fitbit. Thursday morning I heard a thumping on the floor by the bed. I turned on the light, looked over, and saw him with his teeth holding the tread of one of the husband’s sneakers. He was trying to drag it away. He gave me a look that said, “Nothing to see here,” so I shut off the light and ignored him. He didn’t get far before he gave up.
Reading
I’m focusing on weird books for Weirdathon and I’m trying some graphic novels because my library has a new app that lets me download them. There is a limit on how many you can get so I’m reading long books. Reviews of them will start popping up in the next week.
I’m still working my way though this trilogy.

Hospital time
Pre-op for the husband’s kidney surgery was on Friday. I managed to get one whole book read during that day. Surgery is Thursday and he should be in the hospital for at least a few days.
Watching
I watched the first episode of Underground, a new show about the Underground Railroad. You can watch it on WGN’s website.
I wish my skittish kitty would come around. He is way better than he used to be, but still has some work ahead. I hate to think what his life was like before he came to live with us.
Mischevious pets are both great and annoying! Our dog hides until we’re in bed and then creeps onto bed with us. He’s too cute to tell off though! Have a great week and happy reading!
