I loved, loved, loved my vacation day at Sybaris. If I was rich I would totally be getting franchise information to open one around here.

Each of the suites is actually a cottage so you have complete privacy. There are no windows which was making the SO a bit claustrophobic but since I lived in an apartment with hardly any windows once it didn’t bother me at all. It does distort your sense of time though.

We started out taking a steam shower.

This is a real shower and steam shower with chairs to relax in. I didn’t spend a lot of time in there because I wanted to get to the pool.

The pool is basically a really big hot tub. It goes from 3.5 feet to 4 feet deep. You aren’t going to be doing laps in here but I’m sure that’s not the main use of it. It does have jets. One is extremely powerful. We called it the Gulf Stream because if you tried to cross it, it would shoot you halfway across the pool.

See the water falling from the planter? It is a waterfall that you can turn on and off. We spent most of our time in the pool. With no windows we didn’t realize it was late and didn’t get out of the pool until about midnight last night.

There was also a two person jacuzzi tub that we tried briefly but with the pool there wasn’t much point in using that. There was also a kitchen, a shower with one of those overhead showerheads, a massage chair, a fireplace, and a very comfy bed. The bed had a mirror over it that also had stars in it but the mirror was distorted in a way that made you look short and fat. We were so tired from the pool though that we just collapse and slept on the bed and didn’t worry about the ugly-making mirror.

We got up this morning and had more quality pool time until we had to leave. The SO described the place as a high end p*rn set that you get to play in. They also have Liberator Wedges for sale in the lobby when you check in. First time I’ve ever been to a hotel that did that…
