I feel like I haven’t been a productive reading or listening person recently. So what have I been doing instead?
I Got The Covid
Last week I had a bit of a sniffle. My boss is paranoid and he just had covid so he went and got a test. I was positive. That was Monday morning. I called all our sick patients for the day and told them to come as soon as they could. I saw them without seeing the humans. We rescheduled any vaccines. I took the next 2 days off. (Oh, the wailing and weeping that I was such a slacker!) By then I wasn’t testing positive anymore. It never turned into much of anything more than a cold. I never even coughed but I didn’t need to be spreading it around.
I finished a few books that I had started.

But then I started picking up and putting down books and nothing was holding my attention. I ending up watching an entire season of The Great Pottery Throw Down.
I also realized that I didn’t need to resubscribe to Max to watch it because Channel 4 lets you watch online for free. Then I saw that you could watch lots of weird British shows on there like a knitting competition and I was all set for the rest of my convalescence.
It’s a Mystery (quilt)
Every year there is a mystery quilt that starts around Thanksgiving. Every year I hope I forget. If I don’t remember under after the first clue is published then I don’t feel compelled to do it. If I do remember ahead of time, then I do.
These quilts are sadistic. You get a clue a week. They are a huge amount of work. They are things like make 25 sets of 4 matching flying geese blocks in two different color ways.
The quilt is going to end up almost king sized. A lot of the components we’re making are 1.5 inches. It takes a lot of 1.5 inch pieces to cover a bed.
Do I need a king sized quilt? No. Why am I making this? I don’t know.
But, while I’m sewing away madly each week, I’m doing a continuing education course on Senior Dog Medicine so I guess I’m multitasking even if I’m not listening to my audiobooks.
Seek and Find

I started selling things on Poshmark. I like going to thrift stores and I recently found a good one near me. I decided to grab some good quality things there even if I can’t wear them myself and see if I can resell on Poshmark. I’ve sold one thing in the 2 weeks I’ve been on there. I just went to the store again yesterday so I’m listing more things. I’m going to focus on higher end natural fabrics I think. So far I have a linen t-shirt and an organic cotton t-shirt (pictured) and a silk tie. I have some men’s wool and wool/silk suit coats to list too.
I’ve also gotten some winter coats to donate to people who need them.
Here’s the link if you want to see what I’m up to.
