There are two questions that if I know you and you ask me I will answer unequivocally, “None Of Your Business!” One is, “How much do you weigh?” and the other is, “Where is your blog?”
I keep the blog away from people who know me in real life because if I think there is a possibility that they may be reading then I will start to censor myself. I don’t want that so I don’t tell anyone the location. Today the SO started asking me questions about the blog starting with the location. I replied with the None Of Your Business answer (It is always capitalized!)
Now, if he was truly curious he could look at the bookmark bar that is always visible at the top of the browser and see three listings with the same name and click on it. One goes to the home page, one to the dashboard, and one to the new post page. So far he hasn’t been that curious as far as I know.
In order to prevent nosiness I decided to answer some questions.
1. Do you talk about me?
Yes, but not anything naughty or really embarrassing and not by name.
2. What do you call me?
The SO because no one ever came up with anything better and I didn’t know I was keeping you at the time. You never even had a nickname from the people at work and they nicknamed all the guys like Tattoo Boy and Tractor Guy etc.
3. That’s because I’m multifactoral and not easily broken down to one characteristic.
Uh, sure, honey. (Pat him on shoulder. Try not to laugh.)
Then (and this is brilliant) I gave him an example of a typical day like today. “Well, I posted pictures of Snowball’s new coat and of the quilt.”
“People read that? ‘Cause I’m falling asleep here.”
“Yep, I’m pretty boring.” At least what I told him about….
So, a question for everyone. If you blog does your real life circle of people know about it and read it? If they do, do you ever wish they didn’t know?
No one in my “real” life knows about my blog, and I intend to keep it that way! I don’t want to censer myself when I write. I want to be able to talk about whatever I want and not have to worry about it coming back to bite me!
I agree with you Heather, it is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!!!
A few of my friends and other close people know about my blog, but most don’t take the time to read it – too boring for them I guess. I have had some enemies that read it and twisted my words, etc. Now I am trying to post only about facts – mostly quilty ones, although I do want a record of my life, it will be a sparse one.
LOL, your SO and mine would have so…LITTLE…to talk to each other about our blogs!
One day I was telling the SO something about whatnot (don’t remember, in other words) and I remember getting frustrated at the telling so I said, “Nevermind, you can read about it in my blog.”
He answered with, “What?? You not only want me to LISTEN to your stories about your day, but you want me READ about it too???”
After I took a second or two to get over being offended, I decided that I guess it was a bit much to ask. ;o)

Good question and one that came to the forefront for me and my blog just recently. My sister follows my blog and when she wrote her annual Family Christmas letter, she wrote about it and sent the address to the ENTIRE family. I hadn’t told her not to, didn’t consider it an issue. Now that I know any of my family might be reading my blog I am a little bit more aware of what I write. But my blog is about my creativity and since my family lives so far away from me if they are reading, they are getting to know the real me…not the little Peggy growing up with her designated family “role.” I try not to vent about negative issues….because when I’ve started to write this kind of post, I didn’t send it…too negative. The internet is a vast anonymous place at times. I like all the friendships and sharing that goes on in blogland…my reason for a blog.
I love the cat’s sleeping position. One of mine does that too!

good question…I change all the names in my blog or just use nicknames so I am not google searchable, but I do give out the information to a select few friends. So far only person has been an issue with sensoring. The owner of the horse whom I was leasing that just passed away has the blog info so I had to be careful what I said because I didn’t agree with her care (or lack of) decisions and so she asked me to stop posting about it. Other then that I haven’t had an issue. I keep the rule that I am okay with writting it as long as I can and have said it to the persons face. And I don’t know why your SO thought that was a boring post about Snowball becasue she looked cute and tortured all at once on that picture!!
