Let’s talk about fantasy books I want to read that aren’t written by American, British, or Canadian authors.
These are books that I have currently on my Goodreads TBR list or on my Kindle Unlimited list. I’m always looking for more suggestions especially for books from authors south of the equator.
Atonement Sky is the upcoming release in Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. I don’t even know what it is about but I’m going to read it. She’s from New Zealand.
This is part of a YA fantasy series written by a Samoan and Maori woman. It seems to be set in or around Tonga.
This book is written by a Venezuelan author. I don’t know that the description calls to me much but I want to read more South American fantasy.
We’ll give an honorable mention to Isabel IbaƱez because she is in the U.S. but is the daughter of Bolivian immigrants and that features heavily in her work.
This book is Australian and there are were-panthers.
I read another of Tasmanian author W.R. Gingell’s series but I haven’t started this one even though I’ve had it on my Kindle for months.
I don’t currently have any African or Asian fantasy authors on my TBR who aren’t actually based in the U.S. Does anyone have any suggestions?
