I’m getting a bit of reading time in this week. The husband is the master of going to the ER for something fairly innocuous and emerging with an, “Oh, by the way, you have this potentially fatal condition” diagnosis. This time it is resulting in him getting a pacemaker today. Mind you he is completely asymptomatic for the fact that his heart is just not listening to itself. He’d been running around all day before he made time to go in. He went in because he pulled something in his neck. (His previous time was going in with the flu and coming out with a totally unrelated cancer.)

So we’ve been sitting in the cardiac ICU all weekend because they won’t let him out of bed until the pacemaker is in but it isn’t enough of an emergency to call in surgeons on a weekend.

We are also having some audiobook time. We’re almost done with Full Share. The problematic Double Share is up next for group consumption but I’m happy to report that the book after that, Captain’s Share, was back to love and light. I’ve moved onto Owner’s Share by myself.
