I love one series by these authors and couldn’t get into another. So I decided to give this third one a try. So far I’m liking it.

I’m listening to The Tin Men by myself and Paradise with the husband.

I picked this up from the library because it is up for the Anisfield-Wolf book award. It sounded interesting. It is about the daughter of Madam C. J. Walker.

I’m thinking about DNFing this one. I’m about halfway through and thinking about picking it up makes me tired. It is imaginative and creative. That usually makes me like a book but it seems a bit too much. It is almost like the author is seeing how much stuff she can cram into the story without actually moving the plot forward. The only reason I haven’t sent it back to the library yet is that I feel like it would have a good ending that I would be sad to miss. It would just be a slog to get there. I’ll have to figure out if I care enough to keep reading.
