The Goodreads Choice Awards

Some of these I’ve already bought as gifts or have from the library.

I also love to look at NPR’s list of loved books. Lots of these are good nonfiction, I think.
Also? Thanks for co-hosting!
I completely forgot about the Goodreads Choice Awards. Thanks for the reminder to go look at them.
I’m also looking at the ‘added to my TBR’ posts. I just watched an Eric Karl Anderson video on the Washington Post best books of 2025, and the book about the Argentinian disappeared grandchildren (A Flower Travelled in my Blood) is the one that stood out for me, too.
I’m sorely tempted to add Concussed and The Fort Bragg Cartel, two books on extremely important issues. There really is no such thing as “too many books!” Happy reading in 2026.
I am collecting data from all the end-of-the-year best books lists so I can create a master list of the best of the best. A FLOWER TRAVELED IN MY BLOOD has been getting a lot of votes. I think it may be the top, or near the top, of all the nonfiction books of 2025.
These all look like great choices. I hadn’t looked at the Goodreads Choice awards. I’ll be checking those out.
I’ve never read many of the books on the Goodreads Choice lists to be able to vote, but I get some good ideas in the nonfiction sections.
Good list. The Book of Alchemy has been on my TBR for a while since I liked her previous memoir and want more of a creative practice in my life.
Thanks for the shoutout! I do my post for this week right at the end, as I always spot more books on everyone else’s Week 5 posts!
Excellent choices Heather!
Had to check out You Went to the Emergency Room for what and it’s going straight on the list! Thanks for sharing
