Like always in SciFi Month, I end up reading a lot of science fiction before the month starts, and not so much during November. Actually, I guess that’s not totally true since my audiobooks were all sci-fi but I was in the middle of a massive series. That was coincidental, not a deliberate choice for the month.

But what books did I find out about during this month that I want to read in the next year?

I was SO EXCITED to see that there was a second Maxine Justice book out. But I listened to the first one on audio with the husband. See above – In middle of massive audio series, so I don’t know when we will get to this but it will be palate cleanser I need when the huge book hangover hits when I finish what I’m listening to.

The rest are all upcoming releases in the first half of 2026.

Cozy science fiction with sentient moss. What’s not to like?

Mystery featuring a dimension-traveling dog

I think Ilona Andrews did interstellar dating show best in the Clean Sweep series but I’m willing to give this one a try.

I liked the first book in this mystery series set on a generation ship.

It’s foodie sci-fi. Of course I want to read it.
