I was thinking about this post prompt about assembling my perfect spaceship crew and realized that it couldn’t only be from books.
Captain
Obviously it has to be Captain Picard. (Let’s have a moment of silence here.)
Navigation
I’m going with Wash from Firefly to pilot the ship. “I am a leaf on the wind..” Yeah, it’s still too soon.
Computers
Data is useful to have around but we still need a shipboard computer. I think we should go with Lovelace from The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.
Engineering
We have the logic of Geordi LaForge and chaos of Pelia. They are both brilliant so they’ll be able to figure out anything.
Diplomacy
Spock and Troi will balance each other nicely with logic and emotion.
Security
Yes, Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek Discovery is an evil captain/empress but she can totally handle any threats that the ship comes across. Picard can keep Georgiou in line. They’d both enjoy the mental chess match.
Besides, I want to hang out with Michelle Yeoh.
The Ship
We have on long term loan from this guy who drops by occasionally as an agent of chaos.
It does seem to be canon that Pelia knows him.
