I saw this challenge on Portobello Book Blog. It came from Nicki’s blog (Secret Library Book Blog). I thought it would be fun to do a post for each prompt. I won’t be doing it every day but I’ll be doing a prompt when I don’t have other posts scheduled.

Day 1 is A Book by Your Favorite Author.

Sure, start this off by making me make hard choices. How am I supposed to pick my favorite author? I decided to go with the first author that came to mind. That is Terry Pratchett.

When he announced that he had Alzheimer’s it wasn’t clear whether or not each book that came out would be his last. I couldn’t bring myself to read his last few Discworld books. I wanted there to always be more that I hadn’t read.

I did read the actual final book The Shepherd’s Crown and I cried liked crazy. I tear up even thinking about the beginning of that book. It is the death of a major character and through her death it is his goodbye to his readers. Readers knew what it was. I was sobbing. Absolutely beautiful.

There is some nonfiction that I still want to read also.

I told you this challenge was going to make me make hard choices. I’ve already not been able to pick one book by my favorite author to feature!
