What happens when you have a 10 day vacation in the beginning of the month including two 24 hour travel days plus a few extra days off around the holidays?

I end up reading 27 books.
For the year that gives me 168 books read. I thought that I had read a lot more than that last year. I looked it up and I read 222. It turns out that the year before I was in the 160s. The year before that I was in the 220s. I alternate like that for as long as I have records on Goodreads. Not sure what that is about but I guess next year should be a super duper reading year if that pattern holds.
Excellent use of travel and vacation time! 27 books is just wow to me. I hope you had a great vacation too and that your 2022 is already going well.
