Today’s topic is a non-bookish freebie so let’s look at some of my favorite photos from this summer.

These are from a recent kayaking trip.

I’ve always wanted to see a Green Heron in the wild. This guy was literally standing right next to the boat launch.

I couldn’t get super close to this osprey from the water. The nest is over a jogging trail. People were jogging right under her and not noticing. She was unbothered.

When I got back to the launch, the heron was gone but these Eastern Kingbirds were playing hard in the same spot.

We have lots of Great Blue Herons around. This one was in a disused canal that I was walking beside.
