I’ve been keeping a notebook in my car where I write down what I’ve been reading/listening to every day. I also have been noting what books I’ve been adding to my reader and trying to note where they came from. I’ve been liking this look at how chaotic my brain actually is when it comes to reading.

Finished reading:
Started and finished reading from the library. I’ll be reviewing this book this week:
Continued listening to:

Continued listening to On a Red Station, Drifting:
Started from the library. I don’t really plan to read all of this one. I just saw it and wanted to see what her point was in How to Do Nothing. :

Finished audiobook:
Read this novella, Murder by Memory, from the library over lunch. It is the story of a generation ship where minds are stored in a library to reboot whenever a body wears out. A new body is made and the mind is uploaded. You can update your mind backup as you live your new life. A detective who was spending a few years in library storage after her last body died is awoken suddenly in a body because she is needed to solve a murder. I liked the world building the most. The mystery was so-so. I’d like to read more in this world. :
I started the audiobook of Andrea Vernon and the Corporation for Ultrahuman Protection because it was free with my Audible subscription. I got a few chapters in but I just wasn’t liking it. I ended up DNFing it while I was in the middle of a walk out on a trail.
This is the new audiobook that I found on Audible while I was walking on a trail. Sometimes I like living in the future.

Started reading this book from Netgalley:
Finished this audiobook reread of The Calculating Stars. The husband and I had been listening to it and only had a 1/2 hour left. During our joint listening time we’d been doing other things though so this got pushed aside.
Continued listening to Witches Get Stuff Done on my own:

Continued:

Started looking for more books for the nautical theme for Wyrd & Wonder in May. The prompts are really hard this year. I found The Girl Who Belonged to the Sea through Kindle Unlimited after Googling for a while. I’m not sure if it is going to be my thing but the cover is pretty. Pretty covers is a prompt so at least I have one for that!

Finished listening to this book. I liked the magical aspects of the story. I wasn’t crazy about the romance part. It didn’t really feel like it fit. It felt like it was forced into the story because the author wanted there to be a romantic part so that was tacked on. It could’ve been left out and the plot would not have suffered at all. I will continue listening to the series to see what happens in the overall story. Besides they seem to be included for free with Audible.
Continued reading The Witching Moon Manor:
Had Death’s Intern recommended to me through Jessica Rosenberg’s newsletter. We seem to have the exact same taste in books so if she recommends something I get it. Besides, it says it is funny and there is a talking cat. Always have to go for the talking cat. It was free on Kindle.

Started listening to the next book in the Starfall Point series, Big Witch Energy. One thing that is bothering me in this series is that there are some comments about people in their 60s and 70s being too old to do things or about them dying seemingly of old age. Makes me want to shake my metaphorical cane at the whippersnappers.
I like the idea of just keeping a log in a notebook. I keep trying different things to keep track of reading and it all just adds to the chaos.
Looks like you had some good experiences last week!
Looks like you found lots of interesting books to read. I’ve enjoyed Molly Harper in the past but these titles are new to me. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
