top ten tuesday

Whenever I burn candles in my house they are always food scented! I’m not a person who wants pine or leather or vague fabric scents. So I’m not surprised that when I looked back at my recent reads for scent inspiration, I only thought about the food in the books.

Chai

This cozy fantasy series revolves around revitalizing a tavern. One of the things they do is an afternoon chai and scones service so this candle will be chai scented.

Powdered Sugar and Fried Dough

Beignets are an obsession in this book. This candle will have the sweetness of the powdered sugar with the hint of fried dough scent.

Apple Tart

The cook at the center of this series always makes solid desserts in between solving mysteries. She’d appreciate a good sturdy apple tart.

Chocolate Rhubarb

I have no idea what rhubarb smells like but there is a brownie-run pie shop in this town and chocolate rhubarb pie is her magical specialty.

Coffee and Cream

Life's short, talk fast ann hood

What else would a Gilmore Girl’s candle smell like? Unless you add a hint of snow….

Key Lime Pie

Let’s go for the obvious in honor of a small time pie-review blogger who witnesses an alien invasion.

Tea and Honey

This one has to smell good to draw people into the shop.

Sugar Cookie

One of the protagonists has a custom sugar cookie business.

Gin and Sage

This is a good combination for a Prohibition-era witch running a speakeasy.

Maple Syrup and Pancakes

This is the obvious choice for the memoir of a year of making maple syrup.
