Do you read one book at a time, or juggle a few at once?
Oh bless your heart, who reads one book at a time? I can’t even imagine. It isn’t even a conscious choice for me.
- I have books going in different formats
- I have books I’m reading fast and books that are going slow for various reasons
- I just get distracted and pick up the shiniest thing I see and start reading that instead of what I was reading a few minutes ago
Here’s what I am reading right now.
The Library Books

The Slow Books That I Own

The Audiobooks in Progress

Ah! I recognise the “books going slow” vs “books to read fast” thing, that’s an excellent observation. I hadn’t thought about it, but I’m definitely e.g. going fast with Ode to the Half-Broken (an SF novel) and slow with The Stones of Britain (non-fiction).

For me, I don’t do well juggling multiple books. The only time I really do it is when I have a review deadline to meet. Otherwise, I worry I won’t give each book the attention it deserves, especially if I start mixing up characters and plots. Happy Reading!
