Tammy is a lab tech who loves Christmas. She’s devastated when her boyfriend unexpectedly moves out right before the holiday season. She’s even more embarrassed when she accidently starts crying all over her coworker Lawrence.

Lawrence has issues of his own. He’s had a mild heart attack. He’s 31 which is about the age when his father died of the same thing. He’s trying to take control of his lifestyle by going on a strict diet.

Tammy and Lawrence has been friends for years. Can (and should) they explore if it could be anything more?

This is a cute novella about a couple slowly getting closer to each other. Tammy realizes that she has bigger dreams that she has sacrificed over the years. Lawrence gives her the confidence to start to reach for them.

There is a little bit of awkwardness around Lawrence’s diet. A side character talks repeatedly about how he is good looking now that he is losing weight. He’s a very nice guy and supportive of Tammy. He shouldn’t only be considered a romantic option if he loses weight.

This is a good quick read to add to your holiday reading list.
