Welcome to Nonfiction November

For week one we are reviewing what nonfiction we have read in the past year. What were your favorites? Did you find yourself reading a particular category of nonfiction most often?

Since the beginning of November last year, I’ve read 44 nonfiction books.

I read a lot of food related books, including cookbooks. That’s probably my largest category. I can’t resist them.

Picking favorite books is harder. So many of these were absolutely excellent. It is hard to narrow them down to a few favorites. You won’t go wrong with any of them. But if I have to be brutal and decide what I want to put in everyone’s hands, here’s what I’d choose:

I can’t wait to see what books you’ve all loved this year. Remember as you add books to your TBR to make a note of where you found out about them for week 4.

Next week we’ll be at Volatile Rune for week 2.

This week choose a book that reflects a journey for its author or for the reader or both. This can be a physical journey, an emotional, psychological or spiritual journey or a combination of these. Any nonfiction title that leaves it’s author/protagonist and/or reader in a different place at the end from the start point is good for this challenge.
