I haven’t written reviews for a lot of books I’ve read recently because most people don’t care. So I decided to hit the highlights of a few.
Needed more octopus. I liked it when it was octopus POV. The other chapters were tedious. I started on audio, went to book to just get it over with, and ended up flipping through the last 25% to confirm that what was obvious was going to happen from the beginning really did. Would have been thrilled with a twist.
If you’ve read the other books in this series, a lot of this is familiar. It tells the same events from another POV. The main character annoyed me. I can’t stand characters whose entire personality is I Must Do Everything Myself and Not Listen To Anyone. The first book of the series was delightful and they went downhill from there.
Love this series. There are about 18 books. Each focuses on a couple but each also adds to the overall storyline. I read them back to back so I appreciated how much the explicitness decreased over the course of the series. There is graphic sex in the beginning and by the end they basically shake hands and go to sleep. As a person who hates sex in books, I love that.
