What is the fastest I’ve finished a book?
That’s not really a fair question because some books are really short. But, I remember a time when I really quickly read a long book.
When Deathly Hallows was coming out I was going to be in the woods. I was judging a competitive trail ride near my parents’ house. I had a media blackout so it didn’t get spoiled for me. I had it shipped to their house so it was waiting for me when I got there on Sunday afternoon.
I took Monday off work so I didn’t have to drive home. I grabbed some food and shut myself up in my old bedroom to find out what was going to happen. I figured it was going to take most of the night.
I finished about 5 hours later. It was just early evening. I had enough time to come out and watch some TV with my parents before we all had to go to bed. It was quite unexpected.
By the way, my friends and I had written down our predictions prior to reading the book. I totally called Nagini being a horacrux and her killing Snape. I’m still really proud of that.
