Zion Canyon in Utah is a canyon formed by the Virgin River. It is absolutely beautiful. I drove the 3 hours up from Vegas on Thursday morning so I had some time to explore before it got dark.

I hiked one of the easy trails to the Lower Emerald Pool. The trail was paved but not perfectly smooth. I’m not sure I’m buying the claim that it was wheelchair accessible. It was about a mile round trip. It was a mild incline but fairly steadily uphill. It was starting to feel it in my legs which worried me because I was doing a hike rated strenuous the next day.

The trail takes you to a cliff with small waterfalls. The trail goes behind the falls. There isn’t much water in the pools in the winter, I guess.
