I chose to do a rowing workout even though I was a bit wary because it had built in rest periods. No workout ever had those.

  • 500 meters rowing sprint then rest 1 minute
  • 15 squat cleans – bar from floor to shoulders with a squat – 43 lbs – rest one minute
  • 1000 m row – rest 1 minute
  • 30 squat cleans
  • I did it in 14:26


    We started today with a half mile run because the trainer had to talk with someone from a previous class and he wanted us out of the way.

    Then we did a lot of strength work. One new move we did was step ups with a bar. We had to step on a 24 inch box. I almost couldn’t get on it by myself, let alone with weights. I ended up just holding the bar with no weights. I could do it with my left leg but not my right. I need to work on that. I don’t think it is a strength issue has much as coordination.

    The workout was 4 reps of:

  • 20 pike pushups
  • 15 kettle bell swings – hold it in two hands between your knees and swing it with a hip thrust to over your head – I did 25 lbs
  • 20 medicine ball cleans – 12 lb ball – grab it off the ground and stand while bringing it to your shoulders then squat and stand up again.
  • I did it in 14:24.

    I can’t go to class for the rest of the week so I’m going to have to make up stuff here to do.
