Playing Hooky

I’m skipping work today.  I also had to skip my massage appointment this morning which I am totally not happy about.

I have some weird off and on sickness thing.  The first sign was on the plane back from the Virgin Islands.  I think I might have passed out.  All I know is that I woke up suddenly and was all disoriented.  I was convinced that I was hanging upside down from my seatbelt.  I was nauseated and really hot.  I also felt like I was in a tunnel where I could only sense what was right in front of me.  I could hardly hear the plane noise (which was sort of nice).  Then I got really cold.  That cycle repeated twice and then I was fine.  The whole thing lasted about an hour.

A few days later I woke up with a headache.  The SO had gone through that a few days earlier and had progressed to the flu.  So I figured that was what was in store for me.  But it didn’t happen.  I was fine.  Then yesterday I felt sort of dizzy while I was at work.  I took my temperature because I was feeling warm (brand new thermometer out of the box, people always ask) and it was 102.  I went home a little early.

I feel fine except for a headache.  I’m still a bit out of it I guess.  My temperature is down now but that may be because of the NSAIDs I’ve taken for the headache.  I don’t have any other symptoms except not being hungry which I’m sure is a sign of near death for me!

I was planning on going to a political thing last night.  One of the neighbors was hosting a meet and greet for some Republican people running for local office.  I don’t have any interest in that but I like looking at the fancy houses around here and I’ve never been in his.  But don’t think that it didn’t cross my mind that I could serve as my own biological warfare against the local Republican party if I went!

You should go to the doctor ASAP. You could be having mini strokes. Hopefully this is not the case, but your symptoms are such that you should rule out that serious stuff it could be.

What Do You Think?
