I decided to play along with So Scrappy’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge this year. I don’t have a lot of scraps. I do the unthinkable for many quilters. I throw away my scraps.

But, when I got to looking around I found that I did have some scraps after all. Most of these were purposely made 2.5 inch strips that I cut when I just had a little bit left of a fabric.

Here are the blues and a stack of partially done basket blocks that I decided I didn’t like part of the way through making them.

I started randomly sewing together strips of different lengths to turn them into this.

There are going to be 10 of them. Nine for a wall hanging and 1 for a label.

  1. That’s great! I love baskets and these are so cute. I wondered if the handles were already done, too, because it doesn’t look like it in the top picture. This is going to be such a cute wall hanging. I like the fact that you took something you didn’t care for and turned it into something so cute.
