The author of this book discusses really enjoying the photography aspect of being a foodie blogger and it shows. All the photos in this book are very well done. The dishes are artfully staged and lit. Sauces are arranged just so. Smoothies drip down the sides of glasses in ways that would be ever so annoying in real life but that look nice in photos for some reason. That all makes for an enjoyable book to look at before you even start considering the recipes.

The recipes are focused on using whole foods without a relying on processed meat substitutes or fake cheeses. I appreciate that. These are recipes that show off the versatility of vegan cooking with simple ingredients. There are several easy bowls to make and formulas for how to build your own. Many recipes are for variations of dishes that I already make often but I have highlighted several to try.

  • Peaches-and-Cream Baked Oats
  • No Yeast Sticky Pecan Buns
  • Two-Ingredient Flatbreads
  • Single Serve Cookie Dough (Four Ways)
  • Banoffee Pie Jars
  • Easy Vegan Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
  • Red Velvet Cupcakes with Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl Buttercream

This cookbook would be wonderful for people who want to add more plant-based cooking into their repertoire without searching for ingredients that they may not be familiar with yet. These should also be familiar to most meat-eaters and a good bridge for anyone moving away from an omnivore diet.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
